Tiftarea Lunch and Learn
The Tiftarea HR/Employer Committee met on May 12th to award three deserving individuals the Tiftarea/HR Society Scholarship. The scholarships were awarded to assist the students in furthering their education beyond high school.

Thomas/Grady Job & Resource Fair
Success was had by all on May 14, 2009 at the Job Fair held at Southwest Georgia Technical College. The Thomasville Career Center and Cairo Career Center collaborated with Southwest Georgia Technical College to put together the 2009 Job Fair which drew a record crowd of over 700 job seekers.
Americus Labor Law Seminar
The Americus Area Employer Committee and the Americus Career Center teamed to sponsor an Employer Seminar on April 9, 2009 at South Georgia Technical College. Jonathan Martin, managing partner with Constangy, Brooks & Smith provided an exciting and interactive seminar on Labor Law.
2009 Veterans Express Bus Golf Classic
On May 2, 2009, Thomas Chevrolet of Cairo and The Cairo/Grady County Employer Committee sponsored the 11th Annual Veterans Express Bus Golf Classic at the Cairo Country Club. This tournament was a huge success, raising $4,800, according to tournament organizer Fred McCallum.
