2011 Legislative Update

On Thursday, September 15, the Tri-County Employer Committee was provided at their regular meeting with an informative update on many of the new and updated house bills that were passed by the Georgia General Assembly this year.

 

April 2011 Quarterly Committee meeting

The Americus Area Employer Committee held its quarterly meeting on April 20, 2011 at the Forsyth Bar & Grill in Americus, GA. This meeting featured an “Employer Spotlight” on local employers, Heart of Georgia Railroad and SAK Marine/Caravelle.

 

 

Americus Area Employer Committee host a September "Job Fair "

The Americus Career Center, South Georgia Technical College Career Services, and the Americus Area Employer Committee will jointly host a job fair on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Pope Center on the South Georgia Technical College campus located at 900 South Georgia Tech Parkway, Americus, GA 31709. Employers are encouraged to participate. Job seekers are invited to come prepared by bringing your ID, copies of your resume, and by dressing for success when you network with employers.

 

Americus Area Employer Committee host a "Business After Hours"

The “Business After Hours” hosted by the Americus Area Employer Committee on July 27, 2010 at the Americus-Sumter Chamber of Commerce was well attended by local employers.

 

 

Unemployment Insurance Seminar

On March 17, 2010 the Americus Career Center and the Americus Area Employer Committee provided an Unemployment Insurance Seminar led by Cherry Rizer, GDOL Employment and Training Consultant on the South Georgia Technical College campus. Eighteen employers from the Americus Area attended the informative seminar.
