Americus Area Employer Committee hosted a Career Fair

The Americus Area Employer Committee hosted a Career Fair in partnership with South Georgia Technical College on May 1, 2008.  The Career Fair is the Employer Committee’s most significant fund raising project.  Nearly 250 job seekers discussed their qualifications with the area’s leading employers.

Employer feedback evaluations were very positive and a Tyson representative gave high praise to the Employer Committee, commenting that “we thought everything was well organized, as usual.”  One hundred percent of the employer representatives were satisfied with the job seeker turnout.

Nearly 200 paper applications were filled out by job seekers, while several employers provided information directing applicants to corporate websites.  The Middle Flint Regional E-911 Center signed up a full class of candidates interested in testing for dispatcher opportunities.  Five employers scheduled interviews with qualified applicants.
