Sexual Harassment Seminar

The SWGA Employer Committee, Bainbridge Career Center and Bainbridge College hosted a Sexual Harassment Seminar on July 17, 2008, with approximately 44 participants attending the training. Greg McDonald, Director of Continuing Education with Bainbridge College presented the seminar which was held at the Bainbridge/Decatur County Industrial Park Training Center. Seminar topics included learning the definition of sexual harassment according to EEOC, how to recognize sexually harassing behavior on the job, the different types of violations, business and organization responsibility, what is NOT sexual harassment and ten traits of a terrific manager when dealing with this issue. Learning Objectives for participants included: 1) Increasing Awareness of sexual harassment-including which behaviors, comments, and actions can lead to grievances, 2) Preventing Infractions-understanding what to do first if harassment is observed or reported, 3) Taking Action-handling a sexual harassment allegation, and 4) Legal Issues-insuring your organization is compliant with EEOC, federal, state and local laws.
