Food Bank

The Colquitt County Employer Committee and Team Moultrie Staff donated non-perishable items for the food bank during Christmas season. Andy Jordan, Colquitt County Food Bank, accepted the non-perishables collected for the Food Bank which provided need meals for families in the local community for Christmas season.

 

Serenity House

The Colquitt County Employer Committee and Team Moultrie Staff adopted a family from Serenity House during the Christmas holidays. Colquitt County Employer Committee members helped wrap gifts donated by the center staff. Blue Hackle, Serenity House Director, stated “The Serenity House is thankful that the staff and Colquitt County Employer Committee “adopted a family” and made it a Christmas to remember.”

 

Employer of Older Workers Award

Larry Hoff, Department of Georgia American Legion, presented the state “Employer of Older Workers Award” to Brent Maule of Maule Aircraft at the Colquitt County Employer Committee meeting that was held on July 12, 2011. Brent Maule is an active member of the Colquitt County Employer Committee.

 

Sunbelt Expo

The Georgia Department of Labor, Moultrie Career Center partnered with Vocational Rehabilitation at the booth for the Sunbelt Expo. The event was held on October 18,2011 until October 20, 2011.

 

Veterans Benefit Seminar

The Colquitt County Employer Committee, Mitchell County Employer Committee, Georgia Department of Labor, Moultrie and Camilla Career Centers hosted an informative seminar entitled “Veterans Benefits Seminar!” The seminar was held on September 16, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Moultrie VFW Post 4830.

The Georgia Department of Labor & Colquitt County Employer Committee sponsored a seminar "2011 Georgia General Assembly Updates!" The seminar was held on June 16, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Ameris Bank Corporate Headquarters.

 

Colquitt County Employer Committee Focuses on Economic Development

Darrell Moore, President of the Moultrie Colquitt County Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Authority, presented information about “Economic Development” at the Employer Committee meeting that was held on May 17, 2011.

 

Community Career Resource Fair

The Moultrie Career Center along with Moultrie Technical College and the Colquitt County Employer Committee hosted a Community Career Resource Fair on Thursday, April, 28, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Conference Center at Moultrie Technical College’s Veteran’s Parkway campus.

 

Your Unemployment Questions Answered! 

On March 22, 2011, the Colquitt County Employer Committee, Moultrie-Colquitt County Chamber of Commerce, and the GA Department of Labor, Moultrie Career Center, sponsored “Your Unemployment Questions Answered!”  Employers had the opportunity to submit questions prior to the seminar.
