
Work Ethics Project
The Tiftarea Employer Committee and the Business Education Partnership Committee are working on developing a work ethics project that can be presented in the school systems. The project will encompass these categories falling under work ethics: Attendance, Character, Teamwork, Appearance, Attitude, Productivity, Organizational Skills, Communication, Cooperation, Respect, Substance Abuse, and Safety. ![]()
The Third Annual Business Expo/Job Fair
The Third Annual Business Expo/Job Fair was very successful with 44 employers/organizations that participated and 443 job seekers in attendance. The event was held on May 29th from 11a.m. until 2 p.m.at East Central Technical College in Fitzgerald. ![]()

The Tiftarea Employer Committee participated with the Sunbelt Career Initiative/Moultrie Technical College, and other businesses and organizations, in presenting the 7th Annual CHOICES Program to 1100 eighth grade students. ![]()

Christmas Families
The Tiftarea Employer Committee, Georgia Department of Labor/Tifton Career Center staff are thankful to have the opportunity to assist four different families with gifts of food, drink, clothing, and toys throughout the Christmas season of 2007. A special thanks to the Salvation Army for the voucher to purchase groceries for the families. ![]()
Suitcase for Kids 2007
The Tiftarea Employer Committee and IAWP Subchapter V West are thankful to have the opportunity to assist The Patticake House in helping children who have been physically or sexually abused through a program called "Suitcases for Kids". ![]()

Tiftarea EC Honors the Disabled
The Tiftarea Employer Committee honors National Disability Employment Awareness Month in October. Tift County Commissioner Marianna Keesee signs a proclaimation for October 2007 as National Disability Employment Awareness Month. The Tiftarea Employer Committee also has guest speaker Dr. Jim Young, owner of the Amputee Prosthetic Clinic in Tifton. ![]()
